The Increasing Popularity of the "Blog!"
They’re popping up far and wide. Your favorite website has one. Your favorite TV show has one. Even your teenager has one. Blogs. What are they and why are they everywhere you look.
Quite simply put, blogs are similar to journals, only instead of being made of paper and cardboard kept concealed by an even thinner slivers of cardboard and a lock your little brother regularly opened with a paperclip, these journals are online. Why does it appear like everyone has one’ Well, because nearly everyone does. And there’s adequate reason. Blogs can be used as journals, both confidential and public, they can be used as ways for fans to discuss the latest episode of their favorite sitcom, or they can be used by major companies, specifically those that are Internet-based, because unlike the traditional forms of advertising, blogs fetch in more visitors.
For business purposes, there are numerous ways companies use blogs. For instance, a company may have a few blogs on its website, each one dedicated to something different, client concerns, product updates, etc. In addition to being beneficial to clients and other website visitors, these blogs bring in more visitors to the website, as well. Depending on the website, more visitors usually means more profits. And more profits means, that’s right, you’re on your way to that summer residence in the Hamptons!
So, how exactly do blogs bring in more traffic’ Well, Adsense ads with Google are a good starting point. The search engine visits your page each time your add to your blog, essentially moving your blog higher and higher on the SERPs (Search Engine Results Page) and leading to more income from the ads being represented in your blog.
Here are a few quick pointers. First, the blogger will need to decide what he or she is going to post about. Select a well-received subject, one that individuals are engrossed in. ‘Underwater Basket Weaving’ undoubtedly wouldn’t be a really wise selection as not many individuals seem to be interested in it. Unless, of course, you’re business IS underwater basket weaving, in which case you should, by all means, write about it. Next, concentrate on some keywords, these are the words that search engines are going to pick up on. Don’t drown your blog in these words, but use them whenever you effectively can. Lastly, make certain you write content that will captivate, and retain, a powerful readership. You need your readers to keep coming back, don’t you’
Go ahead, accompany the millions of men and women and businesses alike. Get yourself a blog. Or corner your supervisor and propose writing one for your company. Explain how blogs deliver more visitors, more visitors means more profits, and more profits mean, that’s right again!, you’re on your way to the new residence in the Hamptons.
